SENIOR VTC EXPERT

INTRODUCTION
At its premises in Brussels, the Agency runs a conference center, comprised of 15 large meeting rooms and a number of smaller rooms. Before COVID19, the conference center welcomed up to fifty thousand users a year, Agency expects to return to this number in 2022/2023. The conference center is used for all its major meetings, events, and exhibitions and is also made available to external partner organizations for the organization of their own high-level meetings.
The conference Centre is run by Agency staff members, with the support of external contractors who provide conference support services. These services include, amongst others:
- setting up the rooms so they are prepared for the meetings;
- front-line technical support to users in the conference rooms during the meetings to ensure they are able to use the equipment (microphones, computers, projection);
- managing audio-visual aspects of major meetings (sound, visuals, voting systems, mixing racks etc);
- as well as specialized support for specific events.
The conference team is also responsible for:
- managing the technical aspects of the TV studio including setting up the studio (lights, sound, camera) for filming or broadcasting sessions, handling the mixing table, providing technical support.
The team is required to be flexible as conferences are often organized out of normal working hours.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Post-secondary school / Higher-level education in an area related to management of audio-visual equipment or equivalent professional experience.
LANGUAGES
- Good knowledge of English and French;
TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in managing audio-visual equipment;
- At least six months experience in a conference Centre or equivalent;
- Good knowledge and understanding of audio-visual equipment of the type used in the EUROCONTROL Conference Centre;
- At least 5 years experience in setting up, installing, and configuring audio-visual and IT equipment for the transmission of images and sound through the network and the video and audio streaming, video conference, WEBEX, Teams, Zoom set-ups;
- At least six months experience in managing cameras and filming/recording events/conferences through a multi-camera setup;
- Practical experience in carrying out first-line intervention on audio-visual conference equipment and carrying out daily maintenance of equipment;
- Experience in the following tools/technologies: cameras, audio, and video mixers, matrix switchers, SDI routing, encoders and decoders, production platforms and transmission platforms for acquisition, broadcasting (web streaming, web publishing), archiving;
- Broadcast and signal processing (analog and digital);
- Good knowledge of how to operate a green key (lighting, set-up of cameras, video switching);
- Use of standard PC tools under Windows.
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge in networks (TCP/IP and UDP/IP) and IP routing systems;
- Experience in editing and transcoding audio and videos (e.g., Adobe suite);
- Experience in cable management (cable and wires building);
- Some knowledge in electricity;
- Some experience in event production;

- Availability to work irregular hours, sometimes outside normal hours;
- Solutions-oriented, able to investigate and propose new solutions to issues as they arise;
