KBC Asset Management Compliance Officer

What does this job entail?The position is within KBC Asset Management, the KBC group entity which develops and manages investment funds and manages portfolios for retail and institutional clients.

The main objective of Compliance is to prevent KBC Asset Management suffering damage (financial loss, integrity risk, reputational risk, sanctions,…) resulting from failure to respect standards and legislation, circulars of the competent authorities, etc. Considering its tasks, Compliance reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer, who is a member of the Executive Committee and to KBC Group Compliance.

Compliance is a group function within KBC Asset Management Group and is as such responsible for the functional steering and support of the local compliance teams of the different Asset Management entities and for the oversight and the coordination of the local compliance teams.

What do we expect from you?

The compliance advisor will join an international team of compliance advisors and investigators. His/her tasks will comprise of the following:

• Advise the business on new regulations and liaise with them to implement them in the best possible way;
• Be in charge of certain regulatory policy developments;
• Work within a team, and together organize the implementations and developments of new policies;
• Participate on internal projects;
• Contribute to raising awareness about compliance topics;
• Frequent contacts with foreign entities.

Your key strenghts?We Are Looking For Someone With The Following Profile

• Master’s degree;
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in compliance;
• Ability to work under pressure, with strong communication and analytical skills;
• Knowledge of investment products;
• Methodical approach to assignments and good organisational skills;
• Interest in contributing to the effectiveness of compliance and in improving efficiency;
• Experience with Dimension or other asset management specific tools/systems is a plus;
• Willingness to learn and stress resistance are essential;
• Ability to work together with team members with a different background;
• A positive attitude and willingness to adapt to change.
• Good oral and written communication skills (Dutch & English), as well as sufficient assertiveness
