Private Equity Data Analyst (part-time internship / working student)

RockSling Analytics is a start-up providing data-driven solutions for private equity investors. We help sophisticated institutions to access advanced analytics about the risks and returns of their private equity portfolios through our proprietary machine learning tools.

We are looking to expand our data operations with a Private Equity Data Analyst to join our team in Brussels or London.

Role Overview

The role involves working with private equity documents such as quarterly reports, capital accounts, and financial statements provided by fund managers. The Data Analyst will:

• find, capture, and extract financial information about funds and underlying portfolio companies from financial reports to feed RockSling Analytics clients’ databases
• be responsible for performing validation and quality checks to ensure the collected financial data meets the highest quality standards
• perform financial analysis and valuation of portfolio companies held by fund managers

The candidate will help to set-up the data operations team and processes. This is a unique opportunity to have a meaningful and significant impact. The role also offers a great opportunity to work with an experienced team of private equity investment professionals and to learn about the private equity space.

Qualifications And Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field
• Strong interest in finance, investments, valuation, and private equity
• Strong understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, and accounting
• Strong Excel skills
• Exceptionally high attention to details and commitment to quality
• Willingness to work in financial data management and operations
• Ability to work under pressure, to meet deadlines, and to adapt to a fast-moving environment
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Strong communication skills, willingness to work in an international environment, and to train new colleagues
