As Facilities Engineering Manager, you will be responsible to plan and manage the early stage design of strategic projects in a range of global locations.The role would include leading the design from earliest Feasibility steps through to the end of Basic/Scheme Design, at which point it would be passed onto another team for project execution.

The objective will be to ensure that the design of our new facilities meets all defined project objectives for cost, schedule, quality (fitness for purpose) and safety.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

Supporting Business Cases:

  • Participate in creation of the User Requirements Brief (project brief).
  • Perform feasibility studies and develop concepts for new projects, including developing a preliminary cost and schedule for new projects
  • Manage the analysis of production processes and calculations for capacity/ production planning

Early Stages Design

  • Ensure good integration of any new projects in the existing Site Master Plan or help develop new masterplan.
  • Ensure that facility design principles (GMP and non GMP items) are correctly applied in the projects
  • Organize design reviews to ensure that new technological developments are implemented consistently across projects
  • Develop a risk management strategy for the project and to ensure effective identification, monitoring and management of project risks.

Basic Design and Handover to Project Execution Teams

  • Ensure the completion of the Basic Design deliverables
  • Ensure adequate internal and external resources (technical specialists) are in place to support the Basic Design of the new projects.
  • Together with the Execution Project Manager and procurement department
    • qualify the engineering services providers (engineering offices)
    • define the appropriate procurement & contractual strategies
