Boeing is seeking an experienced Public Affairs and Government Relations Specialist –Aviation Safety & Regulatory to join our Government Affairs team in Brussels, Belgium. This team contributes to public policy development for the Company and is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and engaged professional to serve as a valuable contributor toward our legislative and regulatory goals.
Position Responsibilities:
- Track and analyze pending and existing legislation, regulations, news releases and public policy issues, most notably in the areas of aviation safety & security, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), cyber, digital and data, assessing potential impacts to Boeing, its customers, suppliers, competitors, and the wider aerospace sector. As new topics and opportunities arise, the portfolio of dossiers to cover may shift and grow.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to influence and guide the company position and advocacy plan, including European Commission, European Parliament, European Council, and EU Member States.
- Monitor Parliamentary, Council and Commission hearings, policy discussions and other events.
- Influence decision makers and stakeholders by providing information related to issues, communicating effects and providing recommendations in order to best represent the interests of the company.
- Develop and nurture relationships with external institutional stakeholders, including government organizations, customer and supplier coalitions, business associations, and policy-oriented think tanks. Identify areas of mutual interest and strengthen the company position though a joint sphere of influence.
- Collaborate with Boeing business units and relevant functions to understand their strategies, goals, and business activities. Develop government affairs engagement plans to advance these activities in the EU.
- Partner with government affairs colleagues in EU member states to develop and advance a common, pan-European policy agenda where useful. Coordinate with Boeing Government Operations teams in the US and internationally to ensure alignment.
- Build strategic cross-functional and cross-organizational partnerships to resolve problems, improve processes and achieve operational and strategic goals
- Draft reports, presentations, read-ahead documents and memos supporting meetings and events for senior leaders at The Boeing Company. Conduct research including compiling biographical information
- Assist with visits by government and other high profile institutional stakeholders.
This position requires detailed knowledge of and relationships with the aviation safety, UAS, cyber, digital and data authorities in the EU and related stakeholders. The selected successful candidate will have a passion for working with others and an enthusiasm for the aviation industry.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in international relations, aviation, or a related field
- 10+ years’ experience in government relations or a related field
- 10+ years’ experience in Politics, Campaigns, Public affairs and/or issue advocacy
- 10+ years’ experience multi-tasking and working in a team environment
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted (e.g. Master+8 years’ related work experience, 14 years’ related work experience, etc.)
- Fluent in both written and verbal English. Other languages helpful.
- Work experience within the government, political organizations, think tanks, or other related roles
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Relevant advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or JD)
- 8+ years’ experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners
- Experience in government or government relations, preferably in (but not limited to): European Commission, European Parliament, European Council, EASA, Member State authorities, an Embassy, or Government Affairs office.
- Strong passion for politics, public policy, political science, or related fields.
Typical EducationEducation/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
