Public Policy Analyst Intern

Job Description

• Responsibilities:

Intel’s Global Government Affairs (GGA) has 1-year opening for a Public Policy Analyst to work on digital policies, focusing on semiconductor technology, data and security policy strategies.

The candidate will be responsible for monitoring legislative developments in key policy areas (security, data, privacy, competition, EU digital compass, recovery funds) and for implementing advocacy strategies with policymakers and regulators to support a positive business environment for innovation.

The Public Policy Analyst will be based in Brussels and will represent the company on policy, legislative and regulatory matters with EU Institutions, trade associations, think tanks and non-governmental organizations. The individual will be involved in the organization of external events and internal meetings, in the drafting of position papers and studies, in the preparation of briefings for senior executives, in the participation to industry organisations.

The candidate will build a comprehensive network of internal and external contacts and maintain strategic and collaborative relationships with diverse business groups. He/she will coordinate activities with other GGA teams, as well as legal and sales teams in the EMEA territory. The position receives direction from the Director of Security and Technology Policy and reports to the GGA EMEA Senior Director.

Duration: 12 months. Ideally full-time but can offer flexibility.

Starting date: November 2021

Hybrid: on-site and remote.

Candidate must be based in Brussels.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would be/have:

• Active Master’s or PhD student in economics, engineering, law or political science. Arrangements for part-time schedule can be found with the supervisor.
• Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills and the ability to advocate complex technical and policy issues.
• Prior academic or working experience in EU public policies that affect the tech sector would be preferred.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential and additional European languages are highly desirable
