Skills, knowledge, experience required:

• A university degree in engineering, computer science or a related discipline;
• OR alternatively – 5 years’ equivalent experience;
• Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in formal system testing, ideally following system engineering methodologies and best practice;
• Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in:
• Creating and managing a testing lifecycle in a formal test management tool such as:
• HP Application Lifecycle Management;
• Jira with TestRail;
• Verification and validation of BMC Remedy ITSM products (development experience is not necessary);
• ITIL 2011 Foundation certification;
• Extensive experience in conducting system verification and validation as per requirements and end user needs following system engineering methodologies, such as the V-model;
• Experience in:
• Analysing and assessing requirements in terms of a type, verifiability, and recommended verification method;
• Creating use cases, test scenarios, and test cases against requirements;
• Coordinating formal test events, raising defects, and creating test reports;
• Conducting testing for different BMC products (including, but not limited to: BMC Remedy ITSM Suite v9.x and higher, BMC Discovery v11.x and higher, BMC TrueSight Operations Management);
• General understanding of infrastructure solutions hosting service management tools and technology;
• Ability to:
• Work well as part of a dynamic and multi-cultural team;
• Participate in and support meetings with various stakeholders;
• Work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Desirable:

• Knowledge on and experience in using IBM Rational DOORS 9.6;
• Moderate knowledge on and experience with ITIL 2011 processes.

Duties/role:

• Conducting in-depth review and analysis of requirements;
• Preparing use cases, test scenarios, and test scripts against the requirements;
• Keeping the used testing database updated with the test scripts, test results, and defects;
• Performing or witnessing test execution of various test events;
• Analysing the test results and reporting them to the Technical Development team;
• Working closely with the Development team to correct any bugs/errors prior to formal testing phases and any defects post-formal testing events;
• Producing or providing support in the production of test reports.
