Location – Europe Remote
The Sr. Director, Operations and Supply Chain is responsible for the transformation of manufacturing sites using the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Business System and knowledge of supply chain planning processes.
The individual will work with the business to strengthen the site’s performance and may be deployed to a site for up to 6 months. This role may act as interim site leader, responsible for delivering quality product on time, implementing process and technology improvements, and supporting product innovation. In addition, this role may lead efforts focused on the improvement of supply chain within a given site or business unit.
What you will do?
- Act as a site change agent to stabilize and improve the operation.
- Provide support to the management team to strengthen the organizational structure of a site, provide leadership development and help address potential talent gaps in critical roles within the organization.
- Work with the business to track overall performance and take systemic actions to mature the site to consistently achieve its goals and objectives.
- Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving the profitability of the operation.
- Assure that systems, processes and activities meet applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
- Build rapport with the workforce to ensure productivity, uninterrupted workflow and high morale.
- Lead/program manage supply chain projects at a specific site and/or across a business or division: demand/supply/materials/inventory planning
How you will get here?
- Operations oriented leader with 15+ years experience in Operations, lean, and supply chain.
- A ‘hands-on’ track record of leading change including elements such as:
- Lean Leadership (Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, and Gemba Walks).
- Strategy Deployment and Value-stream mapping.
- Kaizen events on standard work, cell design, process and product 3P, error-proofing, material flow, and kanban.
- Expertise in problem-solving utilizing a formal program/process.
- Supply Chain transformation
- Ability to lead projects in cross functional teams
- Bachelor degree in engineering, operations or business.
- Able to drive strategic thinking and continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams.
- Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching teams.
- Great communicator, including solid written and oral presentation skills.
- Broad knowledge of multi-functional, multi-site, global organizational processes and financial business methods.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership at all levels of the organization.
- Able to travel domestically ~50% and internationally as needed.
