The opportunity…

The position of Building Maintenance Worker is to perform ongoing monitoring, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and associated systems required to maintain the environment of Government owned and occupied buildings to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of building occupants and users in the most cost-effective manner possible.

Essential Qualifications (what we’re looking for in your resume):

  • Experience maintaining a variety of carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, and other building maintenance work
  • Experience diagnosing trouble in all types of building systems and determining the proper method, tools, supplies and equipment for maintenance or repair
  • Experience working in a remote (preferably northern) community

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid R.C.M.P. Vulnerable Sector check security clearance.

Job Requirements:

  • Travel and mandatory use of personal protective equipment.
