This posting is to fill a fulltime, permanent position working 80 hours bi-weekly.

This opportunity…

The Property Management Division of Highways & Public Works builds and maintains government buildings to provide safe workplaces for YG employees and public access to government services. We provide planning, design, project management, maintenance, custodial and grounds keeping services to Yukon’s buildings. We employ tradespeople, architects, engineers, laborers, administrators, and many other exciting careers. This position is responsible for maintaining government facilities and surrounding grounds in accordance with standards established by the department. Duties include supervising a cleaning attendant team as well as all aspects of custodial work including floor care, general cleaning and sanitizing, snow clearing, detection and reporting of facility maintenance needs and safety issues as well as other related duties.

Essential Qualifications (what we’re looking for in your resume):

• Experience in a supervisory or lead hand position performing a full range of supervisory duties;
• Experience cleaning and performing minor maintenance in large multi-use buildings including office space;
• Experience ordering and maintaining product inventories; and
• Experience working in a remote (preferably northern) community.
