We are currently looking for an Electrical Assembler to join our team. This is a full-time permanent role. The standard hours of operation for this position are Monday to Friday from 6 : 30 / 7 : 00 a.

m. to 2 : 50 / 3 : 30 p.m. We offer benefits after 3 months of employment and DCPP after 6 months of employment. We have an on-site gym and free coffee.

Our assembler rates start at $17.37, and we offer incremental increases as per our Hourly Wage Structure.

Based in our Elmira (Ontario) location, you will be responsible for performingassembly, wiring, testing, labelling, packaging and quality control of a variety of electrical components and products.

AS AN ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLER, YOU WILL :

• Assemble parts and components, wires and attach them to panel boards and lighting
• Measure voltage of circuits to ensure proper ground and circuitry with circuit (function testing) and hi pot testers
• Read and follow assembly and wiring diagrams and bills of material to ensure correct assembly
• Operate machines to drill, tap, cut metal to prepare parts for assembly
• Operate the engraving and etching machines when required
• Prepares sub-assembly wiring and builds breaker boxes
• Secure lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
• Review work orders to determine the material requirements of the customer’s order
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies and adjust errors

WHO YOU ARE : You have very good hand / eye coordination and dexterity, with high attention to detail. You are able to work independently but collaborate well with the team.

You have a positive attitude and are open to taking on challenges and tasks needed to support production needs. You are eager to learn and cross train to expand knowledge.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Ability to understand English oral and written instructions
• Must have the ability to use various hand tools, power tools, packing machine and manual material handling equipment
• Accurate dexterity is required to perform manual assembly
• Ability to use computer, RF scanner, photocopier and printer for making and printing labels

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS :

• Previous electrical assembly experience and ability to read blueprints is preferred
• Must have ability to perform quality control and review one’s own accuracy against established standards and procedures
• Must be well-organized and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Must have very good hand and eye co-ordination to grasp, manipulate and assemble objects
• Must have the ability to read instructions and perform basic math
• Ability to train new co-workers occasionally as required
