Why Work for Us
This position is based in the Cold Lake, AB area on our Imperial Oil Resources site. This is a turnaround-based position starting in April with a pre-turnaround shift schedule of 10 hours per day for 5 days and followed by a turnaround shift schedule of 6 on and 1 off 12 hour days.
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Fuel Truck Labourer, Turnaround will be responsible for all general labour duties required on industrial scope construction / maintenance projects.
They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation is above industry average and increases with experience
- LOA provided for non-local candidates
Working Conditions
- Overtime as required
- Day shift and night shift positions available
- Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Camp is not provided
- Travel is not provided
- Must be clean shaven
- Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses / goggles, etc.
- Safety glasses / goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
Responsibilities
- Operate a telehandler and skid steer.
- Complete pre-use inspections of equipment.
- Load and unload materials and move materials to work area.
- Operate and maintain equipment and machines.
- Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.
- Follow instructions from crew lead hand and foreman.
- Work with other trades / labourers to assist with workloads.
- General day to day labour duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 2 yearsâ experience as a general labourer in the construction industry an asset
- Telehandler certificate mandatory, skid steer certificate is an asset
- CSTS 2020
- General construction safety knowledge
- Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Superior focus on customer satisfaction
- Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing
- Class 5 driverâs license with max 5 demerits
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects
