We currently have an opportunity for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team.
The core focus of this role is to provide a comprehensive and professional HR Business Partnering and topic management service to the business that enables Daimler Truck Financial Services South Africa (“DTFS SA”) to continuously improve its performance and achieving its goals, manages to effectively get the best out of their teams, maintain high standards of compliance with employment legislation and corporate regulations, guide the HR function to grow and develop its contribution to DTFS SA.
Strategic and operational requirements:
To advise and support managers, departments and employees regarding all personal aspects of HR management using the information, process descriptions, suitable concepts and predefined standards; and taking statutory, inter-company and company agreements into account.
Development and Implementation of agreed HR strategy together with wider HR management personnel. Ensure consistent implementation & execution of corporate HR policies and controls in respective area of responsibility. Feedback to corporate HR functions on divisional/regional/global/local adjustment needs to policies and procedures. Support the overall company strategy by analyzing HR trends and provide all areas of the business namely CV Sales, Finance & Controlling, Operations, Credit and Collections with details and opportunities for the business. Support the DTFS SA leadership team and HR management, while contributing to the company’s overall profitability.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Business Partnering:
- Establish a HR Business Partner approach providing HR advice, support and training to the management team in all aspects including employment law, recruitment, remuneration and other HR related topics in conjunction with the HR Shared Services department.
- Providing HR advice and support to the business and HR Management & Executive Team of DTFS SA to ensure the delivery of corporate objectives and strategy are met, whilst ensuring all activity complies with company policies and processes, and employment legislation;
- Coaching line managers and staff in all aspects of HR policies and procedures. Acting as an internal consultant and change agent to ensure cultural and organizational initiatives are understood and accepted.
- Supporting managers with employee development, succession planning and talent retention to ensure appropriate levels of skill and knowledge are in place to meet ongoing business needs.
- Ensuring sustainably efficient and cost-effective assignment of staff (implementing and coordinating recruitment, transfers and terminations, headcount tracking and reporting).
- Manage and/or participate in HR and/or business projects to support business priorities. Advise specialist departments on issues relating to recruitment and retention of employees. Prepare and implement the organisation’s workforce planning and recruitment strategies.
- Supporting Line Managers with the corporate Management Development process. Supporting managers regarding the promotion of employees: playing part the preparation, coordination of Performance Potential Validation sessions, drive changes and enhancement.
- Supporting cultural change and engagement initiatives including Daimler Employee Survey in conjunction with Divisional HR. Participate and play a lead role in employee engagement and experience, such as being part of employee forums.
- Manage the overall internal HR communication process. Support local HR management in strategic HR initiatives and to align regionally. Liaise with all HR local stakeholders of other local entities (Daimler Trucks and Bus South Africa) and topic management to ensure the DTFS SA division remains abreast of overall changes applicable to the South African market.
Organisational Design & Internal Company Structure & Compensation, Benefits:
- Drive the people agenda by applying broad HR skills in the areas of organization design and development, change management, workforce planning, coaching/consultation, program/project management, facilitation and communication.
- Identify talent issues before they affect the business. Help develop the next generation of leaders through talent management and career development.
- Supporting cultural change and engagement initiatives including Daimler Employee Survey in conjunction with Divisional HR.
- Co-ordinate the Job Evaluation & Global Job Grading together with Shared Services. Steer the annual salary review and bonus process.
HR Recruiting & Marketing:
- Support the strategic direction of the company’s talent management and development programs. Creating an attractive employer’s brand with the necessary tools and represent HR Marketing activities.
- Active involvement in the Recruitment process to ensure best possible hiring decisions in line with business strategy and people values;
- Defining requirements for the staff and executive selections and ensuring the coordination with recruitment. Accompany the end to end recruitment process and on-boarding of employees.
Strategic Learning & Development Interventions:
- Co-create, manage and support strategic learning and development initiatives, balancing business requirements whilst adherence to BBBEE strategy and Skills Development objectives.
- Support the effective facilitation, implementation and monitoring of strategic interventions i.e. curriculums, learnerships, leadership/management programmes, functional programmes, complying with business needs and requirements.
Integrity, Compliance & Employee Relations:
- Promote the integrity and compliance of HR policies, regulations and processes, as well as the alignment to relevant legislation. Ensure compliance to DTFS AG people processes and practices (i.e. position profiles).
- Facilitate internal labour disputes i.e. Grievance, Disciplinary, Incapacity.
- Provide advice and support to the business on employee relations topics.
- Ensure a stable employee relations environment by proactively fostering strong relations with employees, employee representatives and leadership.
- Ensuring compliance in respect of all labour legislation and employee relations policies, regulations and processes.
- Ensuring all HR related compliance controls are fully and timely met. Ensuring knowledge of relevant HR Policies within the company. Support Business with integrity issues, measures.
- Develop, implement and review policies and procedures to support the business areas ensuring compliance with current and forthcoming legislation (in line with Brand Partner).
- Managing and accompanying internal and external compliance Audits.
Control HR Budget:
- Monitoring company specific HR budget for Recruitment and Training & Development as well as personnel costs in accordance with internal procedures, ensuring best value and quality.
- Supporting the preparation of a quantitative and qualitative HR planning working closely with your HQ key account for HR Planning & Reporting.
- Managing Operating Plan (OP), 1st Expectation, 2nd Expectation processes ensuring successful and timely submission of relevant and most accurate workforce data adhering to global deadlines. Manage the SLA with HR Brand Partner.
HR Projects:
- Managing, contributing to and coordinating HR related projects, as well as foster the support of the other project team members.
- Participate in wider HR and /or business related topics and actively ensure organisations objectives are represented from an HRF perspective. Liaise with relevant stakeholders and ensure information is obtained and exchanged were required on a regional/global basis.
- Identify HR gaps and steer corrective measures keeping in mind a digital HR landscape.
Transformation, Diversity and Inclusion:
- Drive and maintain heightened awareness and consciousness of diversity and inclusion that support the transformation objectives of DTFS SA and the respective business unit.
- Drive the implementation of initiatives aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion, with a focus on Employment Equity planning, through the effective management of Employment Equity targets and measures to eradicate barriers

- Take responsibility for personal learning and development journey through a process of assessment, self-reflection and action, including ‘on/or off’ the job training as well as sharing of knowledge and experiences with the team.

Qualifikationen
The Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of HR best practices

Qualification and Experience:
- HR degree or equivalent qualification
- Post graduate qualification as an added advantage
- 3 to 5 years’ HR generalist experience
- Understanding of the labour relations (SA legislations).
