Reporting to the Foreman, the Labourer will be responsible for all general labourer duties required on industrial scope construction projects. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.
This position is located in the Cold Lake, AB area on a client site.
Working Conditions
- Shift schedule – 10 hours per day for 8 days on and 6 days off
- Working outdoors in cold weather conditions
- Working in and around noise and dust
- Must be clean shaven
- LOA not provided
- Coveralls, safety glasses/goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided
- CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required (waterproof)
Responsibilities
- Thaw well heads and piping using truck, tank and pump, using 90c water.
- Address and escalate safety concerns.
- Operate and care for equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe equipment and work areas.
- Follow instructions/protocol/policy from crew Lead Hand and Foreman.
- Assist craft workers as necessary.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Foreman.
Qualifications
- Experience as a general labourer in the construction industry an asset
- Well head experience an asset
- Mechanically inclined
- Intermediate knowledge with tools and equipment used in industrial construction preferred
- CSTS-0.9
- Emergency First Aid
- H2S Alive
- General construction safety knowledge
- Positive attitude towards safety
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Able to work alone
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Superior focus on customer satisfaction
- Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
- Drug and Alcohol testing required
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Stand or walk for long periods of time
- Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
- Climb stairs and work at heights
