Labourer – Stuart Olson

Reporting to the Foreman, the Labourer assumes responsibility for all general labourer duties required on industrial scope maintenance projects. They will ensure work tasks are performed safely in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and company policies and that work is performed with a high level of quality and timeliness.

This position is located North-East of Edmonton, AB on a client site.

Working Conditions

• Shift schedule is Monday through Friday working a 9/80 rotation
• Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions
• Working in and around noise and dust
• Travel is not provided
• Camp is not provided
• LOA is not provided
• Must be clean shaven
• Working in Confined Spaces
• Personal safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials and move materials to work area.
• Operate and care for equipment and machines.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.
• Mop, brush, or spread paints, cleaning solutions, or other compounds over surfaces to clean or protect them.
• Address and escalate safety concerns.
• Follow instructions from crew lead hand and foreman.
• Assist craft workers.
• Other duties as assigned by the Foreman.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 2 years’ experience as a general labourer in the construction industry an asset

• Maintenance experience an asset
• H2S Alive
• CSTS-20
• Fire Watch
• Safety Watch
• Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions
• Committed dedication to safety; reflected in practice and experience

• Ability to work collaboratively
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Superior focus on customer satisfaction
• Valid driver’s license
• Pre-site Drug and Alcohol testing

• Mask fit testing required
• Candidates will be required to have proof of full vaccination prior to onboarding as an employee

Physical Requirements

• Stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 25kg
• Climbing stairs/ladders regularly
• Exposure to hazards such as heights, power tools, slips, falls, falling objects, and sharp hand tools
