Scope
Setup and run extrusion laminator, slitter and ancillary equipment as per specifications ensuring quality and all safety requirements
Main activities
- Setup and operate equipment as assigned per approved procedures meeting safety, ensuring quality, and schedule requirements.
- Maintain production trace ability requirements through accurate and complete documentation of: Production Log Sheets, Mill Roll Tickets, Master Roll Numbering, Quality Hold Jackets, Line Change Over, Shift Log, slit roll labeling
- Maintain accurate filing of all data to meet trace ability requirements.
- Follow instructions as per supervision and communicated with oncoming shift during shift change
- Understand location and use of emergency stops.
- Adhere to all quality procedures and ensure proper flagging and splicing of laminate web.
- Initiate rejected material report and document defects in raw materials.
- Ability to understand manufacturing instructions. (Ie. Schedule, Work Order report, specifications, trial runs, and first time orders.)
- Setup and run equipment efficiently to meet standards.
- Work safely with production shift teams to optimize production efficiency and quality.
- Interpret Integrator alarms to diagnose and correct process problems.
- Select and download process specifications on Integrator.
- Select and verify the correct raw materials are being used and reported as per the work order/specification.
- Make process adjustments based on out of control test results.
- Understand the impact of deviating critical process parameters.
- Recognize material defects or potential defects that may risk the integrity of the product.
- Load and prepare materials for use.
- Understand and use NDC gauge system.
- Verify mechanical equipment is operating correctly and efficiently. Perform PM as required.
- Inspection of all finished product from Black Clawson Laminator as per approved test procedures.
- Properly document all test results on the various quality forms.
- Setup and verify correct slit widths on all Slitter size changes.
- Conscious of inventory and order materials accordingly.
- Learn to perform all Laminator job duties.
- End of shift line preparation for a success run on the next shift.
- Use personal protective equipment, keep area and equipment clean promoting a 5S environment.
- Following waste reduction program. Disposal of end of shift waste in designated waste streams.
- Any other duties as assigned.

Profile (Experience & qualifications)
- Completion of the qualification training.
- Experience required in Mechanical equipment operations.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulics and computer experience would be an asset.
- Strong decision-making skills. Knowledge of the extrusion lamination and slitting processes.
- Candidate must also be capable and interested in learning other job positions within this classification (Laminate operator, Slitter operator, Material handler & QC).
- Good command of the English language and skilled in reading, writing and mathematics.
- Experience in windows-based programs.
- Preference will be given to those with an academic background in either a Mechanical discipline, and/or extrusion.
