Packaging Specialist – Eventscape Inc.

Eventscape has an exciting opportunity for an Packaging Specialist to join our team. This position will be crucial in facilitating the final stage of our custom architectural projects by ensuring the safe and timely shipment of project elements to site for installation. The candidate selected will demonstrate strong initiative and proven ability to develop creative and functional packaging solutions.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The packaging specialist position will:

• act as liaison between Design, Production, Sales, Project Management, and Purchasing departments on packaging-related issues
• work with internal stakeholders to propose and assess packaging for design, functionality, and suitability
• design packaging for project-specific storage and shipping
• develop prototypes for returnable packaging
• resolve component-related issues with suppliers
• engage component and packaging vendors for turnkey options to deliver to site
• manage the component assessment process for primary components, secondary, and tertiary packaging.
• coordinate the implementation of packaging projects, up to the final approval from internal partners
• generate purchase requests for all parts required for packaging
• monitor and ensure the timely arrival of required materials and parts
• conduct stock receiving process for incoming packaging materials
• generate and manage common packaging component inventory
• produce drawings required to assemble packaging
• participate in packaging assembly when necessary

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this role, you must have:

• post-secondary education in packaging engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a related field
• 3+ years work experience in packaging development in a related field
• the ability to multitask and meet required deadlines
• knowledge of modelling software
• proficiency in Excel
• a strong attention to detail
• the ability to synthesize and communicate complex information
• curiosity and a willingness to learn
