The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport’s mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors. The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Park Gate Attendant for Moose Mountain Provincial Park. Reporting to the Park Administrative Supervisor, this position will be involved in frontline work.
As a front-line staff member you will be expected to greet and provide information to park visitors; collect and process all park fees; operate a Windows based computer; and handle telephone inquiries, general office and light cleaning duties. Candidate must possess a current valid driver’s license. Candidate must be available to work on evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will also assist in preparing, promoting and helping out with winter activities. Must be willing to work both in the Administration Office and outside in winter conditions.
The candidate will have knowledge of basic computer skills and cash handling.
The successful candidate will have the experience and ability to respond accurately and courteously to inquiries; calm upset customers and respond to their concerns or complaints; operate office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, answering machines and interac cash systems; and prepare daily deposits. You will be reliable and trustworthy, with the ability to work alone.
Avalid driver’s license is required. A clear Criminal Record Check is required.
Successful candidate must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or will need to provide proof of a negative test at least every seven (7) days. Any costs associated with arranging and taking a COVID-19 test will be paid for by the employee.
