The Team

The primary role of Global Finance Technology is to work with the Bank’s finance community to re-engineer finance processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

The unit is also responsible for developing and implementing Financial and MIS applications services to meet the changing needs of Finance and the Bank.

These applications have an enterprise-wide user community, and are an integral part of Finance’s performance measurement, reporting and control infrastructure.

The Role

This role contributes to a very dynamic department; its purpose is to support the requirements definition for the Finance Transformation program, using a process centric approach.

The role draws on advanced knowledge of finance business processes, including reporting and MIS, to conduct requirements analysis, documentation, and solution design.

The role works closely with other units in Finance, as well as GFT, to ensure that proposed solutions align with the strategic direction for Finance’s process and information technology platforms.

The role communicates project progress, as well as the status of issues that impact project scope, business value, risk and resources.

Acting as the Product SME, the role is expected to provide a high level of professional service to the finance user community, within EO as well as the Business Line’s Finance functions and International Banking countries consistent with Finance Division standards.

Some of the Key Accountabilities include :

• Prepare detail documentation for financial operational / system changes ensuring the various end-to-end process are fully analyzed and documented for reporting centres locally and in head office
• Propose cost efficient solutions and design alternatives
• Manage deliverables for assigned projects through all stages of the project life cycle from concept to implementation, , track task to a project schedule, map process flows, document requirements, and document implementation strategy, prepare communications, etc.
• Coach and train users and subject matter experts on system-related questions, issues and inquiries, in Canada and abroad
• Liaise between Finance clients and application developers to provide detailed requirements

What You Will Bring to Succeed

• Post-secondary Education in Business, preferably in accounting, supplemented with a technical field. CPA designation or working towards designation would be an asset.
• 4+ years of prior experience in digital product management or technical solution delivery is preferred.
• 2+ years working in an agile scrum team, with demonstrated ability to lead in an agile environment.
• Prior experience in an accounting or financial reporting department with exposure to financial statement preparation and accounting processes
• Experience with business / data analytics or large-scale software implementation, application support; working effectively as a team member in medium-large sized cross-functional teams.
• Strong business writing skills, including the ability to select the most appropriate method of communication (written, verbal, virtual and live) and to prepare a variety of business communications including business requirements and functional requirements documentation clearly and concisely
• Excellent organizational, planning, time management and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Knowledge of Finance enterprise systems would be an asset , Smart View, Peoplesoft, BI tools
• Exposure to project management tools including Jira, Visio, MS Project
• Exposure to database programming (SQL), Business Intelligence reporting tools (, Cognos, Tableau and Power BI visualization tools)
