What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
- receive and process documents related to the Driver Improvement Program
- schedule and maintain an itinerary of the Driver Improvement Counselor’s activities
- liaise with Driver Control, Medical Review Section and Ministry of Attorney General personnel regarding driver related issues
- maintain a database of scheduled and rescheduled appointments, suspensions and cancellations
- respond to e-mail, mail, and fax inquiries; and respond to all telephone and in-person enquiries
- demonstrate a professional level of service to clients and stakeholders
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
- you are proficient in French oral communication skills at the advanced level
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- you can interpret and apply legislation such as Highway Traffic Act
- you can use computer systems to access and evaluate records, and prepare and produce letters in accordance with policies and procedures
Interpersonal and Communication Skills
- you have superior customer service skills and can communicate effectively to answer telephone inquiries and direct calls
- you can deal with clients verbally and in writing, in a tactful and effective manner
Organizational and Problem Solving Skills
- you can manage your assigned workload as well as coordinate the scheduling of Driver Improvement activities
- you can resolve scheduling conflicts and complaints from the public
