Technical Application Engineer – iHeadhunt

To strengthen the Core Technical Support / Technical Application Engineering team, Napatech, the leading provider of reconfigurable computing, is looking for a passionate Senior Technical Application Engineer with a keen interest in supporting their customers’ deployment of their solutions as well as bridging experienced gaps between the customer application and their products.

Working at Napatech

The Technical Application Engineer is an integrated part of the R&D team at their headquarter in Søborg, Copenhagen and help making sure the product deliveries, encompassing software, firmware and hardware, integrates well with the customer application.

You will be trouble-shooting customer use cases, where there are failures, discrepancies or non-optimal performance in our portion of their solution. You will be root-causing these scenarios together with the R&D domain specialists as well as finding immediate workarounds for the customers to use while we find the long-term solution. The tasks will include investigating use-cases, creating setups, building relevant scripts and applications, narrowing potential failures and sparring with the skilled developers at our customers.

The right candidate

The right candidate is a skilled developer with strong coding, problem solving and trouble-shooting skills, and a mindset of demonstrating these skills in seeking the optimal solution for our customers. The ability to communicate well with various levels of technical knowledge at our customers, ranging from non-technical end-users to senior technical staff/development engineers. An ambition of developing own skills and making a difference each day is highly desired.

You are fluent in English both verbally and in writing and if you understand Danish, it is an advantage.

Education & Qualification

Educational background within software/firmware development at B.Sc. or M.Sc level is preferred. We imagine positions like: Product Development Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Sales Engineer or Technical sales within the software and or hardware industry.

The ideal candidate has experience with:

• Programming (C/C++) / scripting (Shell, Python, …)
  
• Server Architecture x86, incl. interaction between processor, memory, PCI Express bus, OS and software applications.
  
• Network Fundamentals and Analysis (L2 –L4).
  
• IP Networks.
  
• Network traffic analysis.
  
• Virtualization Technologies:
  
• Data communication and networks in a virtual environment
• OVS/DPDK/SR-IOV/SDN/Open Stack (OPNFV)
• Software delivery and maintenance in Virtualized/Cloud environments
• Linux, LibPCAP, tcpdump, Wireshark and/or similar technologies and tools.
  
• Networks Security – understand the principal concepts.
  
• Knowledge about Linux administration for e.g. CentOS/RHEL, Debian (APIs, cURL, wget, python)
  

It would be a plus if you are familiar with the following, but it is not a must:

• Network troubleshooting using pcap data in order to debug issues and analyze use cases.
  
• Open-source solutions and processes
  
• SPLUNK, Suricata, BRO/Zeek or similar
  
• Security incident response using network forensics
  
• Windows OS and Windows Application Installation and Debugging
