Engineering Manager – Backend – Tokopedia

Job Description:

• Lead multiple teams to build and establish scalable architecture and work on a committed team contributing to robust projects
• You’ll lead a multiple team of engineers to design, develop, and ship product features and improvements
• You’ll be partnering closely with the Product Team to evaluate the technical feasibility, release, and timely execution of features
• You’ll actively work with the Platform and other Engineering teams to incorporate components, services, and tools into your product; as well as, share components, services, and best practices in return
• You’ll actively work with the platform team to scale our Cloud Infrastructure
• People management responsibilities in terms of mentoring, teaching hard and soft skills, and managing their career path
• Nurture and manage software engineer leads to reach their short and long-term goals
• Lead software components development and customization for given carriers requirements, plan tasks, hold code and design reviews.
• Analyze the software engineering department’s performance based on KPIs and metrics and propose ways to improve them
• Review and approve the detailed designs.
• Supervise multiple teams in all aspects of the development including requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration.

Requirements:

• 8+ Years of Overall Experience with Bachelor’s degree/Master’s Degree in computer science with strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, data modelling, and OOP
• Preferred 4+ years of experience in Ad Tech – architecting and developing highly scalable distributed system
• Can demonstrate deep mastery on three of these: ElasticSearch/Solr, Redis, RDBMS, Column-oriented DBMS, distributed queues
• Handled projects with Big Data technologies
• Can quickly prototype and develop programs in two of these languages: Golang, Python, Java, Bash.
• Must have experience in using one or more of these: GCP, Ansible, Terraform, Terragrunt, or other automation and operationalizing distributed tech stack
• Preferred but not mandatory – experience with common ML platforms.
• Possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities with proven design skills, able to think critically of the current system in terms of growth and stability
