Local Division Manager Emerging Markets – ABB

As a Local Division Manager, you will ensure profitable business growth through the local representation of the Global Division and oversee country operations management of the Local Division and Local Business Units, including Research & Development (R&D), Marketing and Sales, Operations (Production and/or Project Management), Supply Chain, Quality, and Operational Excellence. Reporting to the Hub Manager, you will be participating in local business area strategy development in partnership with local management team and define and implement strategies to maintain and attain the Division growth ambitions.

Your responsibilities

• Implementing the Global Division and Hub strategy and ensures business development and profitable growth in local markets and providing input to Global Division and Hub strategy.
• Ensuring development of performance targets in line with global targets and achievement through oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed.
• Ensuring profitable business growth in the Country by maximizing geographic coverage and channel penetration, as well as focusing on industry segments in the domestic market.
• Optimizing business on a regional scale, taking advantage of the Group’s local and global resources.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
• Implementing HSE and business compliance standards and regulations in the Country on behalf of the Division and supporting the Global Business Unit in their Local Business Unit responsibility for the same.
• Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed and guiding, motivates and develops direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies.

Your background

• Degree in Engineering or another relevant course, Master’s Degree is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in Management position leading team.
• Prior experience in developing emerging markets in Asia.
• Proven history of developing local talent.
• Sound knowledge and exposure to Oil & Gas, Power & Water/Energy or chemical and refining.
• Ability to coach and mentor people for senior leadership roles and building high performance teams.
• Capacity for innovation and change management and high strategic and results orientation. High orientation for diversity and inclusion and empowerment and collaboration.
