Position Overview

Bechtel is one of the top Engineering, Procurement and Construction companies in the world. Our Nuclear, Security & Environmental (NS&E) Global Business Unit executes large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security.

This position will start out with a Short-Term Assignment at Cape Canaveral Florida for our Mobile Launcher 2 project for 6 to 9 months, then possibly transition back to Reston VA for a Part-Time telework position on our Natrium Sodium Reactor project.

Responsibilities

• 3D modeling of piping and equipment and isometric extraction in a 3D model environment,
• preparation of drawings/documents for General Arrangements and piping isometrics drawings,
• Assist with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines,
• Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of piping designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc.,
• Candidate should possess an advanced knowledge of piping codes such as ASME B31.3 or B31.1.

Qualifications and Skills:

Basic Qualifications

US Citizenship

Recent hands-on experience with a 3D modeling software

Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 piping codes

Level One – AA/AS degree or certification in an engineering or drafting/design with 3 years’ experience or; 7 years related experience

Level Two – AA/AS degree or certification in an engineering or drafting/design with 5 years’ experience or; 9 years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience
