Responsibilities

As Junior Layout Engineer, you will work closely with IC Design team in order to complete the design of the industrial product’s layout.

In your new role you will:

• Design the product layout starting from electrical schematics within specific design rules;
• Identify the best cost- and performance-effective solution working together with design engineers;
• Define and finalize various projects according to the agreed deadline with Design Engineering and Project Management;
• Guarantee compliance with technology design rules (DRC) and perform physical verification (LVS);
• Execute layout reviews and create proper documentation;
• Execute tape out procedures and support or drive mask order submissions;
• Prepare the packaging technical drawings and support the feasibility analysis;
• Cooperate with the Development team on continuous improvement activities (process, methodologies, etc.).

Please note that we offer a permanent external contract (staff leasing) if all requirements are met. Otherwise, we offer a temporary external contract.

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A Technical High School degree in Industrial Electronics with experience in PCB Design and/or IC Layout Design or a Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent field with knowledge on microelectronic circuits and technologies;
• Knowledge of CMOS/Bipolar technology and related physics is a plus;
• Basic knowledge of electronics;
• Working knowledge of UNIX OS is a plus;
• Working knowledge of IC design tools (Virtuoso, Diva, Assura, Calibre or similar) is a strong advantage;
• Ability to write reports, technical documentation and everyday communication in English.
