General Summary

Responsibilities for this position will focus on developing distributed software systems to support Autonomous Driving R&D. The backend developer will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the back-end modules of multiple enterprise cloud applications. These applications will need to scale well and be highly responsive. Experience developing APIs, interfacing with front-end applications and optimizing database operations will greatly benefit the team. Presenting design and analysis ideas to team members, leads, and higher management. Collaborating with other engineers in and around the group, researching and developing innovative analytics solutions, and ensuring these solutions are contributing to the company’s goals.

The Ideal Candidate Would Have The Following

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
• 2-4 years Software Engineering or related work experience
• 2+ years experience with Programming Language such as Python, Go, Javascript, SQL, C++, Java etc
• Experience using managed services offered by major cloud vendors such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure
• Proficiency in Python and SQL programming
• Strong analytical, communication, and software design skills
• Experienced with database technologies such as SQL and No-SQL database
• Hands-on experience using GCP managed services such as GKE, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and BigQuery
• Experience building RESTful APIs and web services
• Proficient using modern software engineering tools such as Git, GitLab CI/CD, npm, Python virtualenv, pytest, npm, etc
• Experience managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, Helm, etc. Ability to present design and analysis.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.
• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).
• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.

Work Experiences
