Marketing Manager – SSA

As a Marketing Manager, you are passionate about absorbing business context and using that to make intelligent decisions that benefit the long-term value of the brand. In this position, you will be crafting and executing 360° campaigns for our members. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking the lead on marketing campaigns, yet act selflessly and inclusively.

You will create campaigns that drive conversations and resonate authentically with local audiences in Sub-Saharan Africa and set new standards for entertainment marketing. Key Responsibilities

  • Leading campaigns across Sub-Sarahan Africa to drive brand awareness, business growth and fandom across the continent (South African experience is essential).
  • Building impactful strategy, positioning and development of our creative marketing campaigns based on strong, locally relevant insights to make them top of mind for our audience.
  • Managing workflows and production of required marketing shoots, campaign budgets, making financial decisions that reflect strategy and best Netflix interest.
  • Lead local extensions of global campaigns with creative and impactful media planning, working on special projects (stunts, content, digital innovation) that increase the relevance of title promotion in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Partnering with local agencies and collaborating with Netflix teams to develop integrated communication that delivers on intended impact.
  • Oversee the creative direction, execution and production process across all channels with our partner agencies and internal stakeholders (AV, key visuals, media assets).
  • Working closely with the Content, Product, Comms, Regional Marketing, Marketing Production, Publicity, Social Marketing, Photo & AV Studio and Events teams – actively seeking for wins in cross-functional cooperation to make sure campaigns connect with audiences on a local and global level.
  • Collaborate with our world-class product creative team to integrate our original marketing campaigns ideas within the member product experience.
  • Work with A-list on-screen and off-screen talent across the global and local TV industry to execute on title launch campaigns including briefings, shoots, alignment on promotional plans and reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of previous experience in building strategic insight-led 360 consumer marketing campaigns preferably with a background in entertainment, global lifestyle, beverages, fashion or games;
  • Senior experience developing marketing campaigns from scratch including strategic positioning, key art development and video execution, audience identification, media strategy, and launch roadmaps;
  • Native understanding of traditional (broadcast, OOH etc.), social and digital advertising (direct video, mobile, paid social, programmatic, display, rich media, VOD) with a strong grasp of analytics and how to apply data to test and optimize campaigns.
  • A history of stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration with both internal and external partners, including talent (e.g. directors, producers, actors, etc).
  • Ability to lead, create and execute campaigns autonomously.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously without the support of a large team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, in English , (South African local indigenous languages an advantage)
  • Capacity to continuously provide and receive constructive, actionable feedback to and from colleagues.
  • Strong and agile marketing leader with experience in high-performing cross functional teams, that tolerates ambiguity and shifting requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously without the support of a large team.
  • Maturity and capacity to continuously provide and receive constructive, actionable feedback
  • You are a cultural ambassador, both advocating the local cultures existing within the Sub-Saharan Africa region as well as being a true Netflix culture example.
