What will you do?
The Vice President of Product is responsible for leading and scaling ChainCargo’s product management function. You will play a central role in shaping ChainCargo’s product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with our overall business objectives. You will also partner with the CEO and work closely with cross-functional teams, to guide and execute ChainCargo’s product portfolio, from concept to launch, and beyond. Besides, you will have regular interactions and guidance both from the investors and other senior executives.
The person in this role will use their leadership and expertise to drive innovation, enhance customer satisfaction, and maximize business impact. The VP of Product will be a role model for the company and, in particular, for the product department, acting as a natural coach and mentor to the team. ChainCargo is established to use tech as the main tool to service the customers. ChainCargo leads and yields competitive advantage via innovative solutions and doesn’t just follow the rest. Other departments are highly dependent on the technological aspects of the company. Therefore, creating visibility, managing expectations and guiding colleagues on the journey with every new step, is an important aspect of this role.
Requirements
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Product strategy and vision:
- You will define and communicate product vision and strategy in alignment with the company’s overall goals and market trends
- Conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify new opportunities and market gaps
- Collaborating with senior leadership to prioritize product initiatives and allocate resources effectively
- You will have and build clear business cases of each part of the roadmap
Product roadmap and execution:
- You will develop a comprehensive and ambitious product roadmap that outlines the short-term and long-term goals of the company
- Driving the successful execution of the product roadmap by working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales
- You will oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of innovative products
- You will be on top of the planning and will maintain a high standard of visibility in the roadmap and delivery plan
Team leadership:
- You will build and lead a high-performing product team, providing mentorship, guidance, and support
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the product management function
- You will identify and develop talent, ensuring the team has the skills and resources needed to achieve objectives
Market analysis and customer focus:
- Conducting market research, gathering customer feedback, and analysing user data to identify customer needs, preferences, and market trends
- Leveraging insights to drive product enhancements, feature prioritisation, and user-centric decision making
- Continuously monitoring market dynamics and competitive landscape to maintain a competitive advantage
Stakeholder collaboration:
- You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success, to ensure alignment and shared objectives
- Acting as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, providing strategic product insights and recommendations
Who are you?
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus
- You have at least 5 years’ experience as a Vice President of Product or similar leadership role in a tech-scale up
- You are experienced in product management, including product strategy, roadmap development, and product lifecycle management
- You have a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (a prerequisite)
- You have a good understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies in logistics and supply chain management
- You have a strong understanding of software development processes and agile methodologies
- You have a track record of successfully launching and scaling innovative, customer-centric products
- You have excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team
- You have the ability to influence and understand different points of view to drive change
- You are fully proficient in the English language, other European languages are a plus
- You can confidently use Office 365
- You have a pragmatic approach, an analytical mindset and excellent time management skills
