Senior Leather Goods Restorer

Who you will be working for:

Style Theory is a Fashion-Technology company that is redefining Fashion Consumption. We believe that there is an inefficiency in the way we consume fashion in today’s world and are on a mission to provide a smarter solution.

We are currently Southeast Asia’s largest and fastest growing Fashion Rental start-up. Our core product is Fashion Rental Subscription using a “Netflix-for-Fashion” model, the first and only of its kind in the region. Today, we are focused on building more products to improve Fashion Consumption and driving these solutions across the region.

The Restoration Team takes care of a variety of luxury leather goods, with the single mission of returning them to original condition as far as possible.

What you will be doing:

You will supervise and manage a team of expert craftspeople in the restoration of luxury leather goods under our care. In the process, you will be:

• Supervise and coach other team members on their custom paint colour blends
• Approving custom colour paint blends to ensure it matches 100% to the item being restored
• Planning job order flow and managing relevant timelines to achieve team production targets
• Tracking, replenishment and procurement of workshop supplies and tools
• Maintenance of workshop tools and machinery
• Processing and documentation of leather goods under restoration
• Onboarding and training of new hires
• Keeping the workshop area clean and tidy
• Assisting in ad-hoc projects as needed
• Working closely with other cross-functional partners, including Logistics, Warehouse Operations and Merchandising Teams

You should also demonstrate proficiency in the following technical processes:

• Cleaning and preparing leather goods and bags for restoration
• Mixing and matching custom blends of paint colour
• Painting and/or spraying of paint and other chemicals
• Repairing and applying edge finishing
• Repairing damage to leather goods by hand or machine stitching
• Replacing/repairing hardware on leather goods such as snap buttons, rivets etc

What you need:

You should have 5 – 8 years of experience in repairing or restoring luxury leather goods to a high degree of quality and/or a high degree of demonstratable proficiency in colour matching work. You should also possess the following:

• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Ability to manage timelines and stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A meticulous eye for detail and a pair of steady hands
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Be an excellent team player while being able to work independently
• Positive can-do attitude with good problem-solving skills
• Basic computer literacy in programs such as Microsoft Excel
• ‘N’/‘O’/‘A’ Level, ITE or Diploma holders
