Position Summary

The Director of Spa and Fitness is responsible for directing and overseeing the operations of the spa, retail and fitness center. The Director manages and leads the spa, retail and fitness staff to ensure guest satisfaction and that revenue goals are met. The position requires extensive interaction and coordination with Hotel’s Managing Director, Revenue Management Team, ownership and third party spa, retail and fitness vendors. This position requires consistent adherence to policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP’S).

Responsibilities

• Daily management of all Spa Group Business, Spa Front Desk, Retail Staff, Fitness Center Staff and Facilities to ensure maximum effectiveness in scheduling and driving revenue.
• Focus on Revenue Management with all marketing segments in mind.
• Work closely with retail, fitness and spa managers to meet monthly revenue goals.
• Work with Hotel Sales and Marketing to promote specials, offers, and general spa, retail and fitness information.
• Responsible for meeting expected level of Guest Satisfaction.
• Design spa/fitness brochures and marketing techniques.
• Utilize various marketing techniques to outreach to local community and grow client base.
• Continually trains, develops and holds accountable spa, retail and fitness center teams to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Monitor and provide feedback to personnel.
• Develop, implement, and maintain new incentives to motivate colleagues to maximize revenue.
• Effectively maximize inventory levels during high occupancy periods.
• Introduce new product lines, equipment, and treatments to all required areas.
• Deal with any unsatisfied guest complaints.
• Purchase spa, retail and fitness center products.
• Train front desk and therapists on product knowledge
• Handle Guest complaints or problems in a timely and respectful manner,
• Effectively handle all client or guest service issues.
• Attend all required departmental meetings.
• Interviewing and hiring all new staff members.
• Ensure all supervised staff follows and adheres to The Biltmore Leading Quality Assurance Standards.

Qualifications
Experience and Education Required
Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

• At least 7 years in the Spa industry.
