OVERVIEW

Inchfab is commercializing a new agile microfabrication platform for fast cycle time chip manufacturing. Our platform provides fabless sensor chip companies a faster, lower cost, and more flexible fabrication alternative than traditional foundry routes. Born out of MIT in 2019, Inchfab’s founding principle is to lower the barrier of entry for state-of-the-art microfabrication. Whereas traditional fabrication routes today require upwards of $100M and a decade to bring new chips to market, Inchfab allows customers to reach market 10x faster and at 10x lower cost.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an Operations Lead at an early stage, high growth, fast-paced, mission-driven company. The Operations Lead will be responsible for the oversight of daily laboratory operations including the supervision of a small technical team of hardware and process engineers. The candidate shall have prior experience with MEMS equipment process development or prior experience in semiconductor process engineering and materials optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and conduct experiments for the fabrication, application testing, and
  materials characterization of Inchfab’s semiconductor plasma etch and deposition equipment
• Design and build test systems to enable proof-of-concept testing and optimize Inchfab’s fabrication process to meet target specifications
• Train, supervise, and coordinate with junior team members in a wet lab and cleanroom setting
• Contribute to proposals, reports, product literature, product roadmap development, organizational design, and talent acquisition
• Lead technical collaborations with industry and government partners
• Prioritize stringent environmental, health, and safety practices in all aspects of work and supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

• PhD/Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience or bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in chemical/mechanical/materials/electrical engineering
• Experience with semiconductor equipment including vacuum pumping systems, plasma sources, and gas handling systems
• Experience with nano/microfabrication processes including thin film deposition, dry and wet etching, and lithography processes
• Passion for state-of-the-art technology and a relentless desire to learn

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with MEMS device processing (will be considered a very strong asset)
• Experience in surface preparation and analytical techniques related to microfabrication
• Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies
• Experience supervising small technical teams
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs and deadlines
• Excellent people skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners
