Large Scale Single-Family Development or Construction Experience Required.
We are looking for an experienced individual that possesses a deep understanding of land acquisition and diligence activities, development practices, technology and surveying processes, and construction operations on a regional multi-market basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in multi-market land acquisition process
- Synthesize information incorporating desktop analysis and third-party reporting to support a comprehensive diligence strategy
- Have a high level of knowledge of construction operations, practices, and efficiencies, development processes and permitting considerations, budgeting and scheduling, production logistics, quality control, and delivery checklists across multiple areas
- Assist in monitoring and reporting of the home construction process throughout all phases of completion on individual homes under development
- Verify that materials and specifications conform to construction contracts and assist with work change orders and budgeting
- Ensure that project completion timelines align with builder activities and key completion milestones
- Manage and organize documents according to company retention policies.
- Be the company’s representative on construction projects and interface directly with builders as needed.
Skills/Specialized Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of residential construction processes, methods, and best practices. This includes comprehensive knowledge of building codes, critical paths, timeline and budget adherence, and materials procurement
- Experienced working with land surveying/surveyors, environmental consultants and single-family homebuilders and contractors
- Advanced computer proficiently, specifically Microsoft Office suite and construction monitoring software such as Builder trend. Experience with database software (i.e. MySQL, others) preferred
- Goal-focused and highly detail-oriented with a proven track record of managing projects through to successful completion
- Demonstrated organizational skills and strong time-management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication
- Highly collaborative and thrives in a team environment
- Flexible and quickly adaptable to changing business needs and processes
Ideal Candidate Characteristics and Background
- Undergraduate degree or higher
- 5+ years of experience working for regional and/or national home builders
- Employment history demonstrating in-depth knowledge and experience of land purchasing and diligence processes across multiple national markets inclusive of permitting guidelines/requirements and timetables
- Direct work history demonstrating strong knowledge and experience with the full cycle of residential home construction processes
- Strong leadership skills – positive mentoring and management
- Demonstrated track record of managing project deadlines
- Strong work ethic and value system
