Remote Digital Marketing Strategist (1099 Role)

MTR Marketing is in search of a talented and experienced Digital Marketing Strategist with the drive and determination to achieve our clients’ business growth goals. You will identify needs and new opportunities and aspire to solve marketing and business challenges with best practices and outside-the-box ideas. If you’re a tech-savvy trendsetter who has innovative ideas to improve customer experience, we would like to meet you. For this position, you should be both analytical and creative; be comfortable working solo as well as with a team.

As a Strategist, you are responsible to ensure our clients’ business goals are met. This will begin with you collaborating with their marketing executives to define SMART goals and then developing the roadmaps, strategies, and plans to achieve them. You will work with our cross-functional team to turn those strategies into action and then report on their outcomes to show ROI.

You will be developing and nurturing relationships with clients and team members alike, educating and leading them as you enable them to work together to create magical marketing experiences for our clients’ customers.

You are the leader who ensures we deliver results to our clients. You are accountable for ensuring that clients are offered the plans that can make the most impact toward achieving their goals. Your main areas of responsibility are: goal-setting, defining roadmaps, reporting on metrics, and achieving business results.

Responsibilities (Tasks Associated with the Role)

  • Work with clients to understand and/or develop their buyer personas, ideal client profiles, core messaging, brand house, customer journey, competitive ecosystem, current marketing activities audit, and overall marketing plan.
  • Present strategic recommendations, campaign ideas, opportunities, and tests to expedite time to value, using all necessary tools and channels
  • Proactively manage the profitability and growth of your accounts
  • As-needed, assist with consulting needs for prospects
  • Stay informed on trends, news, development, and competitors; and educate your clients and your team
  • ALWAYS have your clients’ best interest at heart: participate in discussions, bring ideas, celebrate wins, learn from failures together in this spirit.
  • Strategic, CMO-level marketing tasks as assigned, possibly including: budgeting and ad-spend recommendations, marketing plans, roadmaps, customer journey mapping, content gap analysis, competitive ecosystem research, playbooks, editorial calendars, ABM plans, lead scoring, and more.

EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years in a client-side digital strategist, CMO, or Marketing VP role (agency experience considered, but not required)
  • Well-versed in the ever-changing digital marketing ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding and advanced experience of marketing toolstack, including HubSpot
  • Proven ability to prioritize and focus on what matters.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment and prioritizing shifting deadlines
  • Experience leading in a client-centric manner that will grow the account and inspire the internal team
  • Experience educating, mentoring, and inspiring others: team members and clients
  • Experience with understanding technical jargon and communicating with both technical and non-technical team members and clients
