The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for executing the social media strategies that expand the Disney Theatrical Group social media presence in alignment with communications and business objectives.

The ideal candidate thrives in an agile and collaborative environment, has exceptional written communication skills, is willing to share innovative ideas, and has a deep passion for the Disney brand and live entertainment. Experience with all aspects of social media and an avid user of diverse social platforms, especially in-platform content creation (Instagram, Tik Tok), is required for this role.

As a content creator for Disney Theatrical Group, you must have a passion for storytelling and be able to craft narratives with care through the lens of all communities, identities and cultures.

While platform and community management are at the core of this role, you will aid in the strategy, tactics and support needs across the four main pillars of work focused on by the Content Marketing & Community Engagement team: Community Management, Content Marketing, Content Creation and Influencer and UGC Activations.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute day to day operation related to all DTG Social Media accounts including:
    • Composing & Scheduling posts, inclusive of copywriting
    • Monitoring and engaging with DTG online community across all platforms
    • Regularly reviewing platforms for pirated content and working with Disney legal teams to remove as necessary
  • Review and implement new social product updates into daily account management.
  • Build and circulate weekly dashboard showcasing content performance.
  • Support Manager, Social Media in creating innovative, engaging and timely content via mobile device or other portable technologies.
  • Operate and manage the use of DTG’s video equipment and in-house production studio.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining digital assets including NYC backup drive library.
  • In-person support to offload footage from production teams.
  • Research current events and news relevant to the industry and community that can be promoted and discussed.
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends and platforms to better develop content strategies and campaigns. Platforms include, but not limited to, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Snapchat and Tik Tok.
  • Assist in content production and video capture as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written communication and project organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work within a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a group
  • Proficiency in creating in platform content such as TikTok and Instagram reels
  • Knowledge of video, audio, encoding formats and social media best practices
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrate strong creative, original and outside the box thinking
  • Solution-oriented perspective that manages change well

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

The hiring range for this position in New York is $50,000 to $64,000 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
