WHAT YOU’LL DO
Duties will be shared with speciality doctors and paediatric trainees within department, and will include (with appropriate training):
- Diagnostic work up of new oncology / haematology referrals
- Day to day management of haematology / oncology in patients
- Review of patients attending for chemotherapy
- Performing bone marrow aspirates / lumbar punctures
- Attendance of outpatient clinics
- Presentation of cases at weekly MDT
- Prescription and administration of chemotherapy
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
A highly motivated individual with excellent communications skills and the ability to work well in a team. Must have previous paediatric experience, and ideally some previous experience of paediatric oncology or haematology.
A doctor appointed to this grade:
- Shall have full registration and Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council; and
- Shall have completed at least four years’ full-time post graduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time or flexible basis) at least two of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; or
- Shall have equivalent experience and competencies
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Specialty Doctors – England (2021)
Salary will be assessed in line with terms and conditions £52,530- £82,400
Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview
Interviews will be held on TBC.
