The Product Experience team creates an enriched product journey for customers based on their needs as well as the needs of our brands — giving the correct information at various stages of the product experience journey. Our aim is to capture and hold the attention of the customer to increase sales and contribute to the success of the wider business.

As a Copy Editor Intern, you will join the BESTSELLER E-Commerce Localisation team and report to our Localisation Lead and Head of Product Experience. Your main responsibility will be enhancing the quality of our English E-Commerce content by creating product description copy from scratch. You will also support the Copy Editors in promoting company-wide textual standards for the different types of content and assist with training our internal stakeholders to meet these standards.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?REQUIREMENTS:

• Native English speaker
• A strong understanding of grammar rules and the differences between British and American English
• A passion for writing, fashion, online shopping, and learning about consumer behaviour
• A talent to effortlessly stay up-to-date with the latest fashion terminology and online webshops
• Eagerness to learn about trend and competitor research and the skill to immediately apply new-found knowledge when writing appealing product copy
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team to ensure language consistency across our brands
• An understanding of the importance of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced industry and keeping others informed on work progress and goals you commit to
• A willingness to adapt quickly to changing situations

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Exceptional editing skills with a creative flair and an eye for detail
• Experience in the field of copy editing or copywriting for the web (product descriptions), preferably in an e-commerce environment
• A BA or MA in a relevant field—such as Marketing, Communication, Language or Translation Studies—is encouraged
• Additional languages are a plus
