Role description

Arcadis’s Placemaking practice in Boston and Knoxville emerged from the culmination of years of collaboration between CRJA, founded in 1959 by Carol R. Johnson, and Arcadis, a worldwide multidisciplinary design firm. Arcadis, based in The Netherlands, has recognized the Boston + Knoxville practice as the US center of excellence in placemaking.

We have developed a reputation for excellence in the design of both natural and urban environments. This multi-faceted reputation and our ability to collaborate effectively in team situations have led to long-standing relationships with our clients. Our passion is inspired by our love for people and the planet. We believe that Planning and Landscape Architecture holds a special responsibility to create a better, more resilient world for us and future generations.

Role accountabilities: 

• Prepare drawings using CAD.
• Assist with all phases of a project, conceptual design through construction administration.
• Assist with the creation of presentation drawings using Adobe Suite and SketchUp
• Participate in site investigation and monitoring of construction.

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for a motivated and creative individual to join our Knoxville studio! We love what we do and have a great time designing and problem-solving together. This aspiring landscape architect should bring the following to our team:

• 0-3 years’ experience
• Degree in Landscape Architecture from accredited institution
• Strong communication skills (orally + written)
• Be a critical thinker, passionate about design, yet not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get technical
• Proficient using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, and Microsoft Suite
• Understanding of Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper a plus
