The Graduate School of Business and Leadership seeks to recruit a dynamic, self-
motivated individual committed to research and community engagement in the field of
Aquaponics and Local Economic Development. The successful applicant will join a
specialized team of staff in the Regional Local Economic Development Initiative. The
Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA)
sponsor the RLED Programme. This post is only available to South African citizens or
permanent residents of South Africa. This is an externally funded post and subject to
funding by EDTEA.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (objectively measurable from CV)

Team Leader

  • Relevant doctoral degree in Aquaponics
  • A minimum of five peer reviewed journal articles in Aquaponics
  • Evidence of experience in the design and installation of aquaponics systems for
small-scale famers in rural areas

  • Evidence of the development of training materials in Aquaponics for small-scale

famers.
