Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator on sponsored research projects, the Senior Clinical Research Coordinator assists and contributes to decisions setting policies/procedures for research and development activities. Responsible to oversee/set-up the process of collection, receipt, maintenance and organization of study data related to clinical studies along with supervision of less experienced CRC’s in the performance of their assignments.

  • Handles input and maintenance of clinical data into the central electronic clinical research database, including creation and maintenance of paper files, preparation of IRB submissions as well as troubleshooting the cause of delays in IRB submissions.
  • Organizes/coordinates Junior CRC’s in conducting clinical trial visits. Is fully knowledgeable about CRC’s workflow, including obtaining informed consent and acquisition of clinical specimen/data as required by protocol to assure seamless workflow.
  • Works with lab technicians and investigators in preparation of requested specimen to be available, reporting on specimen amounts and liaison between clinical sites.
  • Contributes to revising of current SOPs and writing new SOPs by identification and reporting of gaps in workflow along with solutions for resolution of identified gaps.
  • Reviews and compares source documents with electronic input ensuring accurate and complete compilation of subject data through chart reviews and review of junior CRC study binders.
  • Oversees the daily tracking and maintenance of portable electronic devices and orders on inventory and disposal of material related to studies.
  • Prepares data, reports, metrics and summaries for meetings as needed.
  • Fully knowledgeable and familiar with running study related equipment. Coordinates with senior staff for training Junior CRC’s in running study related equipment.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Biology, Biotechnology or related field is required with 7+ years of relevant experience working in a research or similar laboratory.

Preference for MS in Biology, Biotechnology or related field.

  • Advanced computer experience required for data entry and troubleshooting.
  • Possesses an eye for detail and strong initiative skills.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to communicate in both scientific written reports and professional presentations.
  • Proficiency in basic written and/or spoken Arabic language skills advantageous.

Work is approximately 90% computer based, 10% clinical and lab based OR 50% computer based, 50% clinical and lab based.

May require extended and varying work hours to meet demands.

Must be able to lift 10 lbs unaided.

Work may include obtaining biological materials and using of chemical substances requiring careful use and the use of protective devices and clothing.
