About the role

Our Global Pricing team is embarking on an exciting new journey and you can be part of it! Pricing plays a crucial role in driving the aspiration of Qatar Airways Cargo to become the World’s #1 Air Cargo provider in value, scale, reliability and customer preference, while being located in the centre of the organisation.

The Global Pricing Team leads the creation of the global commercial strategy for the cargo division by identifying opportunities to increase margins based on key rate influencers and interaction with the teams across the network. The Lead Pricing Officer will drive process, data and system innovation to make sure the organisation is set up to manage and sustain successful commercial strategies. Also, the Lead Pricing Officer will design and steer the implementation of commercial initiatives in multiple sales region. The Qatar Airways pricing organisation consists of young, passionate and data-savvy individuals that have a strong commercial feel and a get-it-done mentality.

As Lead Pricing Officer in the Global Pricing Team, you will be responsible to:

  • Propose, align and set the global pricing strategy for multiple sales regions across all customers and products for freight rates and ancillaries

  • Using your passion for commercial strategy and analysis to independently build insights from data to steer the regional pricing teams and sales organisation

  • Based on commercial requirements, collect and prepare data to produce useful analysis and insights for management decision making

  • Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders to define strategic pricing initiatives and priorities, set goals and conduct periodic performance with the regional pricing teams and sales organisation

  • Steer the regional pricing teams and sales organisation towards the target O&D, product and weight break mix

  • Design and align global strategies for pricing of verticals, distribution channels and partner airlines

  • Lead the creation of process, system and data-related projects to assure the organisation is set to create and sustain the strategic Pricing initiatives

  • Leading various improvement projects while ensuring the projects are executed based on commitments, expectations and deliverables identified in the by you defined project plans

  • Part of the implementation of the transformation initiatives by re-engineering existing Pricing processes and develop new Pricing processes

  • Monitor compliance to revenue integrity initiatives and take corrective action if required

Qualifications

About you

  • An ideal candidate will have a minimum of Bachelor’s and 4 years of job-related experience

  • Experience in air cargo pricing is preferred

  • Pragmatic, get-it-done mentality

  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills

  • Able to work independently and take initiative on transition projects

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet ever-changing requirements and deadlines

  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to assess commercial performance at a network level

  • Strong feeling of integrity and responsibility

  • Excellent command of the English language
