About the role:

We are recruiting for Standards & Compliance Specialist to be based in Doha, Qatar.

The successful applicant will be a subject matter expert related to regulatory requirements and as such is required to stay up to date and provide timely advise on critical regulatory updates, in order to ensure all set deadlines are met. You will work and closely support the Standards & Compliance Manager to create relevant internal processes and Ground Services Bulletins, to drive understanding and compliance to the regulations across the network. Additionally, you will support the Standards & Compliance Manager on QR Legal & Compliance related tasks, GDPR compliance and other regulatory compliance matters.

Your specific responsibilities include:

  • In line with the company expansion for station relaunching / new station opening, ensure full support in communicating, receiving, disseminating of the respective country/station regulations and ensure all regulatory requirements are maintained within the scope of Ground Operations/ services from a standards and compliance perspective.

  • Consistent checks on updates related to internal/ external publication/regulation, prepare, and issue bulletins where applicable in consultation with the Standard & Compliance Manager.

  • Responsible for issuing, updating and keeping track of document versions of TYPE 3 documentation, relevant to assigned departments.

  • Maintaining records of changes in regulatory requirements, issued bulletins and other related documents and provide a consolidated report for the required updated in the next scheduled GSM updates on a regular basis.

  • Coordinate with the automation team and relevant stakeholders for any system enhancements required to meet government/ Country specific regulatory notifications, to avoid fines and legal consequences to the airline, as agreed by Standards & Compliance Manager and relevant stakeholders. (SRMNS, RMNS, PCM, and RASM)

  • Draft, Issue and maintain required documentation for approved system enhancements e.g. BCD Business Required documents.

  • Support the Standards & Compliance Manager on QR Legal & Compliance related tasks, GDPR compliance and other regulatory compliance matters.

  • Investigate Non-Compliance Fixed Penalty Notices or fines received from regulatory authorities and coordinate with finance team and other stakeholders in a timely manner. Maintain related trackers and generate applicable reports.

  • Publish respective Quick Reference Guides, Briefing sheets and any other required documents to support the operational requirement across the network and drive compliance.

  • Assess the existing internal business process and highlight gaps and any possible liabilities to the airline to the Standards & Compliance Manager.

  • Work closely with the Standards & Compliance Manager to identify and develop processes if required, that will drive compliance to the regulatory update.

  • Is the SME and point of contact for all related COVID-1 travel requirement enquires. Additionally, responsible to ensure all COVID-19 regulations are updated in CDMS and COVID-19 related bulletins through communication with ASMs, RASMs, IOC GS and monthly reviews. Also responsible for updating the regulatory matrix, uploading the latest circulars and deleting obsolete circulars/ information from CDMS and QHUB).

  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to generate a compliance report for any new regulatory requirements and highlight to concerned teams.

  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed as directed by the Head of the Department.

  • With Degree: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job- related experience

  • Experience within an airline ground service or GHA Operations environment

  • Worked in similar role in current or previous organization

Job Specific skills;

  • Extensive knowledge of all areas of airline/airport operations.

  • Experience in handling regulatory updates, NOTAMs and other publications from authorities

  • Proficiency in various documentation platforms used at QR- CDMS, QHUB, GSMIS

  • Good command of budgeting and reporting

  • Good command of English language

  • Ability to delegate work, set clear directions and manager workflow, Strong mentoring and coaching skills.

  • Ability to train and develop subordinates’ skills.

  • Ability to faster teamwork among team members
