Job Description:
The HVAC/Environmental Control Unit Field Technician is responsible for the operations and maintenance of the PATRIOT Environmental Control cooling Unit on the Engagement Control Station (ECS), Information and Coordination Center (ICC), Communications Relay Group (CRG), and Battery/Battalion Maintenance Center (BMC). The Field Technician will utilize the Central Maintenance Facility test equipment for the repair and maintenance of the environmental control units that are evacuated to the CMF. The HVAC/Environmental Control Unit Technician provides technical assistance when requested by the Patriot Fire Unit and Battalion, and assists with any equipment exchanges. The technician will support the testing, operation and repair of all Environmental Control Units. The technician may also support the testing, operation and repair of commercial off the shelf (COTS) Environmental Control Units. The technician will interface with equipment manufacturer for follow on support, on a required basis. This position is located in Doha Qatar.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on knowledge and experience operating, maintaining, sustaining, and debugging of HVAC/Environmental Control Units.
  • Experience in Functionally testing air conditioning units after making repairs to assure compliance with design specifications and standards.
  • Experienced in the opening and closing of work orders and in on-the-job training (OJT). Implement approved engineering changes.
  • A graduate of the US Army Utilities Equipment Repairer (MOS 52C/91C) course or a graduate of a technical school or manufacturer’s course of instruction on air conditioning and refrigeration units or equivalent On-the-Job Training (OJT) or work experience in troubleshooting, fault isolation, disassembly, repair, assembly and checkout of HVAC/Environmental Control Units.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environments and lift 50 pounds.

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of the Patriot refurbishment, modification, and system integration process
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Patriot Technical Manuals and associated drawings, schematics, and publications
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with leadership effectively – including customer, Raytheon, teammates, and suppliers
  • Experience living and working in an overseas location.
  • Previous experience in International Patriot FMS Programs

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science with 2 years related experience. May substitute experience for education. (i.e., Associates degree with 6 years of related experience, or High School graduate with 10 years of related experience
