Islamic Studies and Arabic Teacher – Full Time – Sherborne Qatar Senior School – Qatar

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and highly motivated qualified Islamic Studies and Arabic Teacher from August 2022.

Successful applicants will have:

Essential

• A certified teaching qualification, such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent (PGCE/PGDE must be accompanied by a subject relevant Bachelor’s Degree).
• A high level of written and spoken English.
• Experience of teaching in British curriculum schools.
• A proven track record of providing outstanding teaching and learning.
• Exceptional subject knowledge.
• Extensive experience of teaching pupils aged 11 to 18 years old.
• Experience of teaching I/GCSE Islamic Studies in English.
• Ability to teach Arabic as a Second Language in Years 7, 8 & 9.
• A willingness to contribute in a positive manner to all aspects of the school vision, including extra-curricular activities.

Desirable

• Experience of teaching AS Level and A Level Islamic Studies in English.
• Experience of Qatar Ministry of Education Arabic and Islamic Studies programmes.
• Experience of delivering Islamic Studies in Arabic to pupils aged 11 to 18 years old.
• Ability to teach Arabic as a Second Language at I/GCSE and AS Level.
• Ability to teach Arabic as a First Language to pupils aged 11 to 18 years old.
• Experience of teaching internationally.
• Child protection trained.
